Founder of Plawinski, PLLC.
I investigate and prosecute privacy & consumer protection complex actions.
Albert J. Plawinski, is the founder of Plawinski, PLLC. Albert’s experience includes investigating and litigating various complex class actions and mass torts on behalf of consumers, wildfire survivors, and individuals harmed by toxic chemical exposure. With nearly a decade of experience developing high-stakes litigation from the ground up, Albert has built a reputation for identifying egregious corporate misconduct and translating novel legal theories into actionable claims that hold some of the world’s largest corporations accountable.
Albert’s practice spans two primary disciplines: privacy & consumer protection, and environmental work. In the privacy space, he has been at the forefront of biometric data litigation, bringing groundbreaking cases under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”) against companies collecting consumers’ biometric identifiers without authorization and leading cases alleging the unlawful disclosure of sensitive medical and financial information under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (“ECPA”) and analogous state privacy statutes.
Most notably, Albert has also investigated thousands of consumer fraud claims against social casino gaming companies for allegedly profiting from illegal internet gambling operations. Cases he has worked on include Benson v. Double Down Interactive, LLC and related actions—litigation that has garnered significant national attention for challenging the predatory monetization practices of so-called "free-to-play" gaming platforms.
On the environmental side, Albert has investigated and brought claims on behalf of thousands of individuals who suffered devastating losses in some of the country’s most destructive wildfires, including the 2021 Marshall Fire in Colorado, the California Camp Fire, and the Oregon Labor Day Fires—tragedies widely attributed to utility company negligence. His advocacy includes investigating and bringing claims on behalf of thousands of individuals who suffered personal injuries related to exposure to Ethylene Oxide emissions from commercial sterilization facilities as well as exposure to PFAS.
After nearly a decade of investigating and litigating cases that have resulted in billions of dollars in recoveries for consumers, wildfire survivors, and individuals harmed by toxic exposure, Albert founded Plawinski PLLC in 2025 to continue doing the work he loves: uncovering corporate wrongdoing and fighting for the people harmed by it.
